David Wolfersberger - ATA DTP 2022
    David Wolfersberger
ATA Distinguished
Topical Philatelist 2022

Congratulations are in order to our very own David Wolfersberger who has been named the American Topical Association’s (ATA) Distinguished Topical Philatelist for 2022!  David, a life-long collector, has worked diligently over the years helping to promote the hobby. He instrumented the restart of the Wine on Stamps Study Unit in 2006, and more recently helped establish the Gastronomy on Stamps Study Unit in 2017.  For cartophilatelists, it was David who helped the late Dr. Alf Jordan lead the restart of the CartoPhilatelic Society (CPS) in 2003.  Since then, David has carried out a number of invaluable roles within the Society, helping to guide and reinvigorate the group. David has continued to maintain the research cornerstone of our Society, the Maps on Stamps Checklist, containing information on over 41,000+ map related topicals. David is presently the Editor of the Society’s award-winning journal, The New CartoPhilatelist and the Society vice-president. “The CPS would not be in the position we are today if it were not for David and his support of our Society,” said Mark Honig, CPS President. “From all the members, we thank you for your dedication to the CPS and congratulate you on this outstanding recognition as the ATA Distinguished Topical Philatelist for 2022!
